Historic "spectacle" that no other Franconian city has!
Each year, the quartermasters invite the historical scene of Kronach to celebrate Quartermaster's Day with them. On this day, a "spectacle" takes place in the Old Market Hall of the Historical Town Hall, which is unique to this Franconian city.
So the (mayor) reports to the city's quartermasters on what happened in the quarters of the Upper City in the past year. Citizens are following this debate closely and are making sure that the quartermasters at least stay close to the truth, because their reports determine whether they will be given the responsibility of their respective quarters for another year.
The quartermaster's oath and the presentation of the quartermaster's chain finally seal the "service relationship." Now, music, dance, and pranks can be celebrated.

Processions are not uncommon around Corpus Christi in Catholic Bavaria. But a procession where the women lead the way? In Kronach can visitors experience this sight every year on the Sunday after Corpus Christi. On the so-called Swedish Sunday, the faithful gather on Melchior-Otto Square in the middle of the historic Upper Town and, accompanied by the firing of cannons, proceed to the mighty Rosenberg Fortress via several stations.
The Swedish procession dates back to the Thirty Years' War, during which the city was besieged several times. The attackers were repelled many times, but in March 1634, the odds were against them. The Swedes had already breached the city wall, the defenders were tired and exhausted, and defeat was looming. And here begins the story of the resolute women who balanced the dwindling strength of their men with emancipated strength. Hot water from the breweries and street paving stones suddenly became weapons. On her own, the woman - following this motto, the attackers could actually be driven off.

Culinary specialties like Flammkuchen or Saumagen also ensure the well-being of the palate. The highlight is the election of the new Wine Queen, which traditionally takes place on Saturday.
