At the beginning of this tour there is Heilbronn, characterized by its beautiful location on the Neckar and its wine yards. It shows its most idyllic side at the Old Neckar in the heart of the city, where the new gastronomic mile leaves no wish unfulfilled.
In Heilbronn the Castle Road leaves the Neckar Valley and crosses the road over Weinsberg - the name says it all- to Hohenlohe. „In every nest there's a castle“, that is what the residents say about their home and it is true. Öhringen, Neuenstein, Waldenburg and Kirchberg an der Jagst are places and palaces that the Castle Road can contribute to this statement.
Then Castle Comburg, with its accessible walk along the battlements where you have a mangificent view of the city, belongs to Schwäbisch Hall. From Schwäbisch Hall the Castle Road continues over Kirchberg an der Jagst to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, the "Franconian Jerusalem".
We have compiled some important visitor information including opening times and admission fees about all castles on this tour for downloading.
