Pictures, bands and encounters: Wimpfen galleries, bands, artists, museums, churches and pubs provide visitors with a diverting and surprising art experience.
On International Museum Day, Bad Wimpfen traditionally organises the Red Tower Action Day, during which the tower and its forecourt are brought to life with a medieval camp.
Admission to the permanent exhibition in the Red Tower is free on the occasion of the Red Tower Action Days. If you want, you can also climb the stairs to the top of the tower and look out over the Neckar valley and the old town of Bad Wimpfen.
The Bad Wimpfen Valley Market is one of the oldest markets in Germany. It was once a church festival that developed into the Talmarkt. Six days of pure fun with a Ferris wheel, break-dancing and lottery stalls, amusement shops, games of skill, various children's rides, festival beer, fried sausages, candy floss, almonds... and everything that belongs to a festival for the whole family!
The world's elite speed climbers meet at the Blue Tower
After the tremendous success of the last two years, the world elite in speed climbing will meet again in Bad Wimpfen for the 3rd. International Frießinger BW OPEN in speed climbing.
This year, athletes from around the world will compete on the speed wall directly at the Blue Tower in the historic old town of Bad Wimpfen - right in front of the approximately 800-year-old Blue Tower. World-class level and sparkling excitement meet here in a centuries-old historical setting. A unique experience for athletes and spectators alike.
Every year on the last weekend in August, around 60 craftsmen from near and far show their handicraft techniques and work throughout the Staufer Palatinate complex, from the Blue Tower to the Red Tower. They include basket weavers, smiths, wood turners, dyers, spinners, weavers, potters and many more. Food and drink, music and medieval dances, Staufer guards and activities for children will provide atmospheric entertainment at the market.
The "Herbst.Musik.Genuss" event will take place for the second time in the historic town center of Bad Wimpfen. Visitors can once again look forward to a colorful musical program, autumnal food offerings, the best entertainment and autumnal decorations.
The Wimpfener Kaiserpfalz forms the background for one of the most traditional Christmas markets in Germany. Its beginnings date back to 1487, when Emperor Friedrich III granted the city the privilege of holding a market before Christmas, the Katharinenmarkt.
In the narrow alleys of the old town, about 120 stalls offer handicraft, high-quality goods for the upcoming festival.
