A lady of the royal court, dressed in period costume, guides visitors through the Imperial Palace and the imperial city of Wimpfen, bringing the past back to life from the Middle Ages through to the Thirty Years’ War.

Children see their town from a different perspective to adults. They are fascinated by the stories within the stories, by exciting hidden paths, by old cellars and attics, and also by tall towers and secret passageways.

Trained child tour guides, dressed in historical costume and accompanied by an adult, lead the visiting children on a self-guided tour of Bad Wimpfen.

The night watchman takes the children back to the days of the imperial city of Wimpfen and to a life without electricity, cars or television. He explains what life in the town was like over 200 years ago in a clear and child-friendly way.

The children can also help the night watchman light the way by bringing their own lanterns.

Bad Wimpfen: Familien-Entdeckertour

Family discovery tour - get to know Bad Wimpfen flexibly

The family discovery tour is ideal for a slightly different walk through Bad Wimpfen. To do this you need a flyer and a map, which you can get on site at the tourist information center in the Old Hospital. Then nothing stands in the way of the adventure tour and you can explore Bad Wimpfen on your own.

The tour takes you like a scavenger hunt through narrow half-timbered buildings past houses steeped in history through the historic old town on the mountain. An eye for detail is required at all stops, and anyone who has completed the family tour including the flyer and map can pick up a small reward at the tourist information center in the Old Hospital!

And after the diverse experiences, you can end the tour comfortably in one of the cafés, pubs, pizzerias or restaurants. The Tourist Information will be happy to make a reservation for you.
