Just a ten-minute walk from the castle is the Sophienhöhle, one of the most beautiful still active stalactite caves in Germany. Impressive stalactite formations have been created in this underground palace over thousands of years. Unnoticed by the eye, this natural work of art continues to grow. The cave can be visited as part of a guided tour.
From May to September, "Sophie at night" takes place every Saturday evening. A fascinating light show with background music draws attention to the highlights of the cave and visitors can wander through the three impressive cave rooms individually. At the end of the evening, people meet at the campfire at the cave entrance.

Situated in the forest at the gates of the castle complex, the Rabenstein Castle falconry presents over 80 of the largest and most beautiful birds of prey in its bird of prey and owl park, which covers around 30,000 square metres. In 30 large aviaries, native birds of prey and owls from the 30-centimetre tawny owl to the three-metre wingspan white-backed vulture are housed in pairs in a species-appropriate environment.
During the daily flight demonstrations, up to twelve different birds of prey can be seen flying and hunting. The facility is also used for research, teaching and conservation of the species, some of which are threatened with extinction.
