Kulmbach: Naturlehrpfad am Rehberg

Mum and Dad want to get out into nature and go for a walk, but you don't feel like it? Then take your parents with you on our nature trail at Rehberg! There are so many exciting things to explore there that you're guaranteed to enjoy the trip too!

In a jumping pit, for example, you can compare your long jump results with those of a hare, forest mouse, deer or lynx. Then there's a path where you can walk barefoot and feel the different types of forest floor. Lots of other great surprises await you here! If you climb the Rehturm tower on Rehberg, built in 1498, you'll be rewarded with a super cool view!

The Rehberg recreation area, located close to the city, is also a popular destination for walkers and hikers. A circular trail (Frankenwaldsteigla ‘Rehbergweg’, 11 km, ~ 3.5 hours) leads from Plassenburg Castle to Rehberg and through the old town back to the starting point.

Length and duration: approx. 4 km, walking time approx. 2 hours, 21

Kulmbach: Familienwanderweg "Rehbergweg"

Walk over soft forest soil, feel roots, feel moss, smell berries, grasses, mushrooms, wood and leaves: In our beech forest with beech trees up to 30 metres high, there is a lot that you can explore with all your senses. On the way, we recommend that you and your family take a break at the friendly organic farmer "Rangabauer". Not only can you enjoy a tasty snack there, but you can also let off steam on the large play area with a straw castle, swings, a goal wall, a slide and much more! The highlight of the hike is certainly the Rehberg itself: From here you have a perfect view of the Plassenburg castle, the Buchwald forest and the town of Kulmbach.

Length and duration: 11.7 km, walking time just under 4 hours
Start and finish: Car park at the pavilion on the Rehberg
