Faber-Castell has invested a great deal of effort in transforming the historic mine production rooms in Stein near Nuremberg into a testimony to industrial history that can be experienced. Since 2006, visitors have been able to experience the special features of lead mine production in the 19th and 20th centuries on two floors. The building on the west bank of the Rednitz (founded in 1848) is a listed building and consists of a nested ensemble of levels and rooms from different eras. A tour shows the chronological sequence of the historical production process.
Guided tours can be booked here.
