The HopfenBierGut museum in the Kornhaus conveys the town's history as a history of enjoyment: visitors can experience the world of hop growing and brewing in Spalt interactively and with all their senses – from a three-dimensional town map to a panoramic cinema and a walk-in brewing kettle to a modern ‘Tischlein-deck-dich’ (The Wishing Table). Feel, smell, observe, taste is the motto, because at the end of the tour, visitors can taste the surprising variety of flavours of Spalt beers at the ProBierBar.
Imaginatively designed and carefully integrated into the half-timbered architecture of the former tithe barn, which is over 550 years old, the presentation received the Bavarian Museum Award in 2017.
