On the German Castle Road - people and traces along a holiday route

With its impressive sights and beautiful landscapes, the Castle Road has been attracting tourists for decades. But who are the people who live, work or drive along the road? In this documentary, SWR television set out in search of clues. Historical film footage tells the story of how things used to be. Along the route, bus drivers, castle lords and tour guides have their say and craft traditions and culinary specialities are presented. The result: a modern road movie with nostalgic flashbacks along one of Germany's oldest and most popular holiday routes.
