Camper Tour 2: Bad Wimpfen – Schwäbisch Hall

.

From the Kraichgau through the Neckar valley to the Hohenloher Land.

The second discovery tour begins in the Staufer town of Bad Wimpfen, high above the Neckar river. After returning to the Neckar valley, it winds its way again and again through wine landscapes. This is also where the typical "broom taverns" of the region come into play. They are the perfect stop when it comes to homemade wines and homemade products. The broom on the house shows from afar that the restaurant is open. In Heilbronn, which has made a name for itself as Germany's largest red wine growing region, the Castle Road leaves the Neckar valley and makes its way to Hohenlohe via Weinsberg - the name says it all here. "In every village a castle", say the inhabitants about their homeland and this is true. Öhringen and Waldenburg are the towns and castles that the Castle Road can contribute to this statement. Finally, Schwäbisch Hall has another castle, the Comburg. The former Benedictine monastery offers wonderful views of the city from its walk-in fortified walkway.
