Walpurgis Night – a comedy in seven scenes
Walpurgisnacht, a comedy by Eichstätt-based Florian Schmidt, is a historically accurate play for which the author spent a long time researching the Eichstätt diocese. It tells the story of a small village that is firmly in the grip of the devil (Gangerla) and his companions Heidschnuck and Habergoaß, as well as a large number of witches. This amusing play tells the story of how the villagers succumb to the devil's superior power, or how they fight back, in a relentless and open manner. Witch dances, weird characters, crude Franconian humour and ‘action’ characterise this play.
