"Experience a journey through time" is the invitation of the Burgenstraße, which leads from Mannheim to Bayreuth and is one of the oldest holiday routes in Germany. More than 70 castles and palaces can be admired along the 770-kilometre-long route.

In the frame of the series "holiday routes in the southwest", a movie about the Castle Road is aired in the German regional television channel "SWR". The series traces the history and meets people, who have something to do with the respective route in many different ways. Historic footage tells the story about how it used to be there.
