On the road between Mosbach and Heilbronn

This tour starts at Mosbach's marketplace and from there back to the Neckar Valley.

The Castle Road is increasingly surrounded by wine yards and two castles in picturesque location come into view: Castle Hornberg and Castle Guttenberg. Both for centuries in the possession of the barons of Gemmingen, they connect castle romanticism, a marvellous view and warm hospitality in an ideal way.

Near the imposing German Order Castle Horneck in Gundelsheim the Castle Road crosses the Neckar and loops over Sinsheim, where the castle Steinsberg with its panoramic view thrills. For an elegant stay the hotel "Schloss Heinsheim" is recommended. Back in the Neckar Valley, the route passes through Staufer city Bad Wimpfen, known for the unique silhouette of its imperial palace.

Before Heilbronn is reached, a visit to the salt mine in Bad Friedrichshall is a must, as it fascinates in 180 metres depth with the "world of the white gold".
