Castle Tavern at Guttenberg Castle

High above the Neckar valley lies the undestroyed fortress complex of the Staufer period. The castle cuisine offers a large variety of delicious regional food and - as a special treat - it offers dishes according to original recipes from the 13th to 15th centuries, freshly prepared and served by knaves and maidservants in historic garments. Terrace with magnificent, unobstructed view of the Neckar river. The castle specialises in traditional festivities such as knight’s banquets and medieval events of all kinds. Ideal ambience for weddings (castle chapel) - specialising in medieval marriage ceremonies and wedding receptions including a master of ceremonies. Family celebrations and corporate events. Large castle festival in late spring. Award-winning castle museum with exhibition suitable also for children as well as a tour of the castle by the original proprietors (advance booking). At the foot of the castle there is a medieval “hay hotel” in the “Zum Alten Marstall” (former royal stables) including the large knight’s camp and 14 bowers.
